A genuine passion for roofing
Roofing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I learned the trade from my dad, who showed me everything from the basics right through to the importance of doing every job properly. He always said that your reputation is only as good as your last job, and that's something I've carried with me throughout my career.
Once I'd learned the foundations, I went on to work for a heritage and traditional roofing company. That's where I really found my passion for the trade. I worked on some amazing buildings and learned specialist roofing techniques that not every roofer gets the chance to experience. It taught me patience, attention to detail, and respect for traditional craftsmanship. Every roof was different, and every project gave me the chance to improve my skills.
After years of working for other people, I knew it was time to start my own business. I wanted to build something I could be proud of—a company where quality always comes before cutting corners. I wanted customers to deal directly with someone who genuinely cares about the work, gives honest advice, turns up when they say they will, and leaves every job to the highest standard. Starting my own business wasn't just about working for myself; it was about building a name that people could trust and recommend.
I'm proud to work all over the UK because every area brings different challenges and different types of roofing. Whether it's a small repair, a full re-roof, or restoring a traditional roof, I enjoy taking on new projects and meeting new customers. Travelling for work means I'm not limited to one area, and it gives me the opportunity to work on a wide variety of properties while continuing to grow my experience.
In 10 years' time, I'd like my business to be recognised as one of the most trusted roofing companies in the UK. I want to build a skilled team that shares the same values I learned from my dad—hard work, honesty, and pride in doing the job right. I'd love to take on larger and more prestigious projects, especially heritage and traditional roofing, while still providing the same personal service that helped build my reputation in the first place.
At the end of the day, roofing isn't just how I earn a living—it's something I'm genuinely passionate about. There's nothing better than standing back at the end of a job, knowing it's been done properly and that it'll protect someone's home for years to come. That's the standard I set for myself every single day, and it's the reputation I want my business to continue building for many years to come.
